Companions are a sixth unit added to your party when you go on Quests. Friend Companions and Trial Companions have a Party Ability effect, which can give you an advantage in Quests.
There are several different types of Companions:
Friend Companions: Gil is not required for these Companions. They grant Party Abilities.
*Friend Companions can only be hired a set number of times each day.
Trial Companions: They function the same as Friend Companions.
Other Companions: They require gil depending on the level of the Companion unit, and they do not provide any Party Abilities.
*Party Abilities normally come from equipping vision cards. Party Abilities extend to all allied units in the same party.
If you select another player as your Companion, any gil rewarded in the quest will be sent to them via their Present Box.
• Companion Settings
You can adjust your Companion Settings on the Formation screen. You can set one unit to ALL in addition to setting one unit of each element for a total of nine units. Only units that meet specific content settings will be displayed on the Companion Select screen.
