What are unit shards, and how do I obtain them?

Unit shards are commonly used to Limit Break a unit. They can be bought from shops or obtained through summoning.

Unit Shards from the Shop
A small quantity of unit shards may be available in shops and can be bought with gil or Visiore.

Unit Shards from Summoning
If you summon a unit that you already own, you will instead receive a number of unit shards according to that unit's rarity.

• SR: 15 Unit Shards
• MR: 20 Unit Shards
• UR: 40 Unit Shards

Unit Shards from Hard Quests
Hard Quests in the World Quests page sometimes drop unit shards for specific units. They are limited to three attempts per day.

Converting Unit Shards to Soul Medals
Once you Limit Break a unit to its max, you will no longer be able to use that unit's shards. Instead, these shards will be converted to Soul Medals that can be exchanged for items.
